The Closet Judith May Ever Get To Sewing

Dear Blog,

I've been talking for a few weeks about buying a new pair of shorts, because I have only one pair of denim shorts - which out of three pairs of acceptable-to-wear-outside-the-house is really all I need - but I wear them a lot, so I wanted a second pair.

I was wandering around the mall and the outlets not really seeing anything that caught my eye - or, at least, nothing priced well enough to be worth it.

It was then I recalled the $6 jeans I got from PacSun with the massive flares that I have only worn once.  Two problems fixed in one: new shorts, and flares gone.  Obviously, I'm not the first person to cut up a pair of jeans.  I'm not even the first one in my family to do it (Bekah became quite innovative this school year).  But I am quite proud of myself; these are really comfy.

Dear Blog,

These past few days have been fantastic.  I've been seeing friends and had energy and generally enjoying the summer.  I hope it's always as awesome as this.

Love, Judith

Unread no more

Dear Blog,

Two years ago, I read pretty much nonstop.  I could go through a book a day, sometimes two books a day.  I read so much I had to stop myself from reading so much, because I wasn't giving myself enough time for retention and thus not reaping the benefits of all my reading.

What happened?  It's June, and as of today I have read 21 books this year.  And I call myself an English major?!  I have unread books stuffing my shelves, and two library books sitting on my desk.  Then, I have the gall to say that the summer is boring, when in reality I have plenty to do.

So, dear little blog, I will be reading this summer.  Perhaps reading and getting a tan at the same time.  Certainly trying to get through some of these books on my shelves.  I used to save books I owned for when I was traveling, because taking library books abroad is just not sensible; these, however, are too many for that purpose; I arguably have enough unread books on my shelves right now to last me the rest of my life in holidays.

Dinner is being dished, so I will go and chow down and then read some more.

Love,

Judith
