An Idea

Dear Blog,

More and more recently I've been considering the idea of writing my own blog, about trying to be a responsible and conscious consumer while on a college-kid budget.  I feel like it would be an interesting project, and I've not seen many blogs directed at college kids - and those that are are much more about finances.  The problem is, I couldn't do it on my own; I would need people willing to work with me - to see a movie at a discount theater, to try the various free activities around town (are they really that boring?), to try out dorm-appropriate (or college-student cooking-skills appropriate) and cheap recipes.  So it would be quite the project, because I'm tired and I can't do it all myself, and I live at home, so I have a lot of things already provided for me.

Aaaand... I'm a shameless procrastinator.  I spend far too much time reading blogs on saving money where I don't learn anything new and waste time and electricity!  The hours I spent online this afternoon and evening compared to the amount of time I should have spent studying for my quiz (it's only 20% of my grade!!!) tomorrow.

So, you can see the concerns.  I'm still really tempted though.  I have the writing skills for it.  And the motivation.  Perhaps even an audience (though, am I just the exception?  Maybe the majority of college students are content to fall deeper and deeper into debt?).

Hmm.  In other ideas, I have signed up for a site that where you get paid to take surveys (definitely where a couple hours went this afternoon).  I'm not sure how well it's going to work out for me, but I figure that, since I'm not in a position to get a job, it's worth a shot.

So, that's the summary; I want to save money (and the world), and I want to write about it.  I want to keep up with school (did I mention I made the Dean's List?  I had a 4.0 last semester!  Let's see how long it remains that way once I start taking upper division classes...).  And I want to stop procrastinating.

Aaaand my shoulders hurt.  In the way you might imagine it hurting to have a bald eagle perched right on that patch of bare skin.
